Hudson Yards Cafe, NYC. Hourly wage: $20 hourly + tips. Matchaful offers sustainable Japanese matcha and active botanical nutrition. We have (8) cafe locations in NYC and are passionate about leading the matcha movement in a thoughtful, elevated and respectable way.Making matcha is all about the highest level of integrity, recipe mastery, and the energy to showcase your creations. We are looking for a caring and diligent Assistant Store Lead to join our growing team and lead our Hudson Yards location. Matchaful is committed to offering healthy, plant-based offerings and a serene environment to enjoy a perfectly crafted cup of matcha. We respect the art of Japanese matcha whisking, while fostering education around wellness through our adaptogenic ingredient bar. As Matchaful’s Assistant Store Lead, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations, people, and sales initiatives at our Hudson Yards location. You will ensure the highest level of quality for our matcha-based wellness drinks and food, maintain a pristine, aesthetically amazing, and organized environment, and uphold the highest level of customer service—all while forging unique connections with staff and guests. About You:- Strong leadership capabilities; respect for traditional matcha; extreme care for the café space; excellent communication and customer service; community-minded; pristine organization; attention to detail; commitment to improving café operations and presentation. Requirements:- 2+ years hospitality leadership; flexible schedule and full time availability (40 hrs/week); wellness background a plus; food handlers permit required. Core responsibilities (not limited to):- Monitor daily sales goals and average ticket; work towards 17% labor goals; maintain/improve Google ratings; lead team on priorities; boost retail sales; assist onboarding/training; ensure adherence to procedures and protocols; attend weekly leadership meetings; maintain professional workplace, dress code and DOH compliance; develop team skills and report to Regional Leader; order weekly items via Marketman; communicate equipment issues or shortages; ensure proper execution of menu changes; correct disciplinary actions and communicate; communicate via Slack; manage scheduling on Square Teams; communicate schedule changes and assist coverage; ensure inspection readiness and A grade; streamline drink-making; conduct quality checks; monitor time cards; organize storage; conduct weekly/monthly inventory in Marketman and ensure Square accuracy; be available for EOM counts; place commissary orders via Marketman; ensure concentrates stocked; monitor dates/labeling; enforce food waste record keeping; keep retail stocked and storefront beautiful; delegate tasks; receive/organize/adjust invoices in Marketman.
