JOB SUMMARY:

The Diligence Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of third-party due diligence loan reviews and post-close quality control reviews for a Due Diligence Provider.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Support, mentor, and motivate your full-time and part-time workforce; manage a remote team of Credit and Compliance reviewers in a fast-paced environment, with support from the Production Supervisor
  • Responsible for the coordination and evaluation of the team to include participation in the hiring process; training, and developing employees; planning and directing work; addressing concerns and resolving problems; and conducting performance reviews
  • Build and execute productivity and capacity plans, and partnering with leadership team to meet goals
  • Prepare procedures and job aids for training and quality improvement
  • Monitor and analyze process workflows, team member performance, and ensure client SLAs are met or exceeded for trades and flow diligence reviews
  • Work closely with Transaction Management Team to ensure service delivery is monitored effectively and continuously improve client service and operations
  • Respond to escalations from loan reviews as needed in a timely manner
  • Establish goals and objectives for the department in alignment with overall divisional goals
  • Operate risk management controls to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Support, recommend, and implement technology initiatives
  • Ensure company and department goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and training of new staff.
  • Oversees the daily production workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Aid in discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Mortgage Banking preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of mortgage industry experience, strong preference in the due diligence space
  • 3+ years experience in a management/supervisory capacity
  • Strong underwriting knowledge and understanding of current compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing remote teams and leveraging technology like Slack, Zoom, etc.
  • Knowledge of LauraMac and ACES
  • Strong analytical skills - this role requires reporting and ability to catch errors
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills; ability to collaborate, manage and expand relationships, at all levels, across the organization
  • Ability to work with data, spot trends, and draw conclusions
