As the first Principal Machine Learning Engineer at mbue, you will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI technology. This includes overseeing the research, development, and training of advanced models. You will collaborate closely with the CTO and CEO to ensure alignment with the product roadmap and the achievement of target milestones, mentor junior machine learning engineers, and help us continue to build an amazing team.Must demonstrate professional experience and proficiency in:1) Computer Vision and Deep Learning Expertise: Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience.2) Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor junior ML engineers to bring leading-edge technology to market.3) Communication Skills: A collaborative and open-minded team player who can effectively communicate with and inspire diverse thought among colleagues.Here’s what you’ll be doing:- Leading the research and development efforts to tackle our toughest problems.- Establish our overall training and evaluation pipeline for new solutions- Find incremental solutions to quickly address issues we see with the models in production- Hands on experimentation with new approaches that will empower our next generation of capabilities- Strategic planning with CTO and CEO- Running experiments in an environment that prioritizes knowledge-sharing, inclusivity, and trust- Coordinating with junior machine learning engineers and software engineersWhat we’re looking for:- Strong hands-on coding skills with Python and PyTorch.- Extensive experience developing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade machine learning solutions.- Demonstrated experience in early-stage startups with mentoring and growing successful teams.- Proven experience in early-stage startup environments, thriving in dynamic and collaborative settings, while building from the ground up.- Proficiency in end-to-end model development, validation, and deployment.- Understanding of ML deployment architectures and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a passion for staying on the cutting edge of Machine Learning and AI technologies.- A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
