About the role:
The Content Marketing Specialist champions the Mentor Collective brand and develops a deep affinity for our customers, their institutions, and the students they uplift. You know our product and brand so well that you can create top-of-the-funnel content that attracts, motivates, and educates.
In this role, you will collaborate with marketing team members, sales, Mentor Collective’s leadership team, and a team of contractors to further develop our content strategy and create impressive assets that establish the company as a leader in mentorship and peer-to-peer led student success solutions. The ideal candidate can both strategize and create impactful content. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling, goal-oriented content to support marketing campaigns, including (but not limited to) blogs, events, website content, press releases, case studies, white papers, social media, video, and other media.
  • Manage content and design contractors, including guiding content development, budget management, and content review.
  • Contribute to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy by optimizing web and blog content.
  • Work across our organization to ensure content is aligned with business goals and supports key marketing metrics.
  • Working with our Product Marketer, develop sales enablement materials to help reach our revenue goals.
  • Maintain and improve Mentor Collective’s content repository, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness for our key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain templated tools and mechanisms to support consistent messaging and strategically reinforce critical messages.
  • Manage Mentor Collective’s social channels and create content to grow and engage followers.
  • Manage and optimize content distribution channels to maximize reach and impact.
  • Measure and report on the performance of content initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of content marketing experience in a B2B business.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and writing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Exceptional project management skills and experience providing creative direction to designers and copywriters.
  • Expertise in nurture, multi-channel demand generation campaigns, and email marketing best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment and effectively ensure our content is on point to enhance organic SEO, orchestrate impactful events, and support PR.
  • At least 75% of your workday overlaps with the Eastern Time Zone.
  • U.S. work authorization is required.

Bonus points if you have experience with:

  • Graphics, GIF, and Video editing skills are a plus
  • Working in a start-up environment for a fast-growing company
  • Prior experience working in a remote working environment
  • Higher education experience or in the EdTech industry
  • Experience using HubSpot for email marketing and as a CMS
  • You’ve experimented with the industry’s newest tools and resources, including Jasper, ChatGPT, and Gemini, to conduct research and create and promote content. You are eager to embrace these tools for Mentor Collective.
  • Experience using HubSpot and Salesforce
