We are now seeking a talented and experienced Back End Developer to join our core team. If you are eager to make an impact in the pharma industry and enjoy rapidly scaling products and teams, consider applying to join our team.

Position Overview and Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with our team to build new features and maintain existing ones for the company’s suite of products. Our products are cloud-based applications that automate various AI/ML services and support our customers in implementing AI/ML in a GxP environment. You will be responsible for translating business ideas into backend software logic, including designing scalable solutions, as well as developing and deploying those features.

You will collaborate with cross-functional team members, data scientists, and DevOps engineers, to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet business objectives and customer needs. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail and software development guidelines, and a passion for innovation in the AI/ML domain to enable its usage in high impact industries. Shaped by the nature of the environment where our software is used, our development team prioritizes best practices in automation to streamline day-to-day workflows and maximize efficiency.

This role is U.S.-based, and visa sponsorship cannot be accommodated at this time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience building building and maintaining backend applications using Python. Expert knowledge in at least one popular Python backend framework (e.g., Flask, Django, Tornado).
  • Intuitive understanding of software development design patterns and best practices.
  • Good understanding of relational databases and query optimization techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge and expert-level experience in using PostgreSQL for designing, managing, and optimizing relational databases.
  • Experience working with ORMs (Object-Relational Mappers) and understanding their underlying mechanisms to improve the overall performance of data querying.
  • Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs aligned with industry best practices.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity measures, including the design of robust authentication mechanisms, secure encryption handling, and the implementation of measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Solid understanding of Linux-based operating systems.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and delivering applications to cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of software testing approaches, including unit tests and functional tests.
  • Proficient in using containerization technologies, such as Docker, and orchestration tools, like Kubernetes. Strong understanding of cloud platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud, including their networking infrastructure and services. Proficiency in at least one of these platforms is required.
  • Experience with software optimization techniques to minimize latency. Deep understanding of profiling and optimizing system components to ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance under heavy load conditions.
  • Ability to debug software effectively, identify and resolve complex issues, and ensure the stability and performance of applications across various environments.
  • Understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience deploying applications that integrate software built with popular AI/ML frameworks, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Knowledge of how to scale GPU-based cloud infrastructure in a cost-effective and reliable manner.
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML model implementation, their applications, and their suitability for different tasks.
  • Familiarity with data versioning tools (e.g., DVC) and model monitoring in production.

3. Pay (with equity): $130k - $150k depending on skills and/or qualifications
