Motivo is an online platform that helps mental health therapists get credentialed in a faster, easier way. Many pre-licensed therapists experience difficulty when attempting to access the mandatory supervision hours needed for licensure. Similar to residency for a doctor, aspiring therapists have to complete two years of post-degree consultation with a more seasoned therapist. However, these hours are often difficult to find and really expensive. Congruent with the rise of telehealth, 45 states now allow clinical supervision hours to be obtained online through live video-conference. Motivo has created a marketplace of available clinical supervisors. Aspiring therapists are able to search and match with their ideal supervisor through a proprietary algorithm. Motivo then provides the supervisor and therapist with access to a HIPAA-compliant platform for scheduling appointments, conducting video sessions, documenting notes, collecting payment, and tracking collected hours.
