Summer Process Development Associate

Position Summary

NKA Bio is actively seeking a Process Development Associate for Summer 2024. This position offers budding scientists and engineers the invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on process development experience at a company developing novel therapeutic antibody drugs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with R&D Lead to design and optimize upstream and downstream processes for antibody production in a microbial system.
  • Operate FPLC to purify antibody.
  • Conduct tests to characterize antibody function.
  • Prepare physiologic buffers and solutions to evaluate new medicinal formulations.
  • Safely handle and work with biohazardous materials including bacteria, fungi, mammalian cells, and blood.

Preferred Skills

  • Currently enrolled in STEM undergrad or graduate program or STEM background.
  • Previous lab experience is required.
  • Solid theoretical understanding of microbial protein expression and purification required. Hands-on experience preferred.
