This individual will work closely with Product, Engineering, Education, Marketing, and Customer Success to translate learning goals, gameplay concepts, and user feedback into intuitive, engaging, and polished digital experiences.

The ideal candidate combines strong product design skills, excellent visual judgment, startup adaptability, and a passion for technology, education, gaming, music, or AI.

Responsibilities

Product Design & User Experience

  • Design intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences across Notey's web, mobile, and game-based learning products.

  • Translate product requirements, learning objectives, and gameplay concepts into clear user journeys.
  • Support usability improvements for students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Maintain consistency across Notey's product experience, visual language, and interaction patterns.

Product & Engineering Coordination

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to align design priorities with development timelines and release schedules.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog reviews, design reviews, and product rollout discussions.
  • Prepare clear design specifications, component notes, and handoff materials for engineering.
  • Support feature launches by reviewing implementation quality and resolving design questions.
  • Monitor design-related blockers and escalate issues when necessary.

User Research & Feedback

  • Help gather, organize, and interpret feedback from students, teachers, schools, parents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Use customer insights, analytics, and usability observations to improve the product experience.
  • Develop prototypes and design tests to validate new features before development.
  • Support interview, survey, and feedback processes when design input is needed.

Cross-Functional Operations

  • Coordinate design initiatives across Product, Engineering, Education, Marketing, Customer Success, and Growth.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic product priorities and day-to-day design execution.
  • Maintain design documentation, workflows, assets, and operational processes.
  • Support product, marketing, and sales materials when brand or interface design input is needed.

Process Improvement

  • Develop and refine design systems, templates, component libraries, and documentation standards.
  • Improve design-to-engineering handoff processes and cross-department collaboration.
  • Introduce tools and best practices that improve visibility, consistency, and accountability.
  • Support implementation of product quality, usability, and performance reporting systems.

Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate design rationale clearly to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare design summaries, mockups, prototypes, and presentation materials for internal reviews.
  • Coordinate with contractors, agencies, freelance contributors, and implementation partners when required.
  • Support investor, grant, and strategic partnership materials when product design visuals are needed.
