The Opportunity
Notey is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to help build, improve, and scale the technical systems behind its AI-powered music learning platform.
This individual will work closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Education, Customer Success, and external technical partners to deliver reliable, scalable, and engaging product experiences across web, mobile, backend, and learning systems.
The ideal candidate combines strong engineering judgment, hands-on full stack development ability, startup adaptability, and a passion for technology, education, gaming, music, or AI.
Responsibilities
Full Stack Development
- Build and maintain frontend, backend, and API systems supporting Notey's learning platform.
- Develop reliable, scalable, and maintainable software across web, mobile-adjacent, and cloud-
based environments.
- Implement product features, internal tools, dashboards, integrations, and platform
improvements.
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code aligned with engineering best practices.
- Support performance, reliability, security, and scalability improvements across the platform.
Product & Engineering Coordination
- Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to manage development timelines and
release schedules.
- Contribute to frontend architecture, backend architecture, databases, APIs, and cloud
infrastructure decisions.
- Support feature launches, QA cycles, deployment processes, and product rollout initiatives.
- Monitor engineering blockers and escalate risks when necessary.
- Maintain documentation, technical workflows, and operational processes.
- Support implementation of KPI tracking, analytics instrumentation, and performance reporting
systems.
Architecture, Systems & Integrations
- Contribute to frontend architecture, backend architecture, databases, APIs, and cloud infrastructure decisions.
- Integrate third-party services, analytics tools, payment systems, school systems, and internal operational tools where required.
- Support data flows between product, analytics, customer success, and business reporting systems.
- Help improve developer workflows, deployment pipelines, testing processes, and system observability.
Cross-Functional Operations
- Coordinate technical initiatives across Product, Design, Education, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales when engineering support is required.
- Ensure alignment between strategic technical priorities and day-to-day engineering execution.
- Maintain documentation, technical workflows, and operational processes.
- Support implementation of KPI tracking, analytics instrumentation, and performance reporting systems.
Process Improvement
- Develop and refine engineering standards, code review processes, documentation systems, and
release procedures.
- Improve operational efficiency and cross-department collaboration.
- Introduce tools and best practices that improve visibility, reliability, accountability, and
engineering velocity.
- Support technical debt reduction and platform modernization efforts.
Stakeholder Management
- Communicate technical status clearly to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Prepare technical summaries, implementation notes, and project updates when needed.
- Coordinate with contractors, agencies, implementation partners, and external vendors.
- Support investor, grant, and strategic partnership initiatives when technical explanations or materials are required.
Team Leadership & Coordination
The Full Stack Software Engineer will coordinate technical work across multiple departments, including:
- Engineering
- Product
- Design
- Education
- Customer Success
- Marketing & Growth
- Business Development
The Full Stack Software Engineer may also support project execution involving external contractors, agencies, freelance contributors, and strategic implementation partners. While this is not initially a people-management role, the successful candidate will be expected to lead technical workstreams, influence stakeholders, and build processes that support future organizational growth.
Qualifications
Required
- 3-7 years of professional software engineering or full stack development experience.
- Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vite, View, Shadcn stylesheets, etc.
- strong backend experience building scalable cloud-based microservice infrastructures using GCP or AWS.
- Ability to build, test, debug, deploy, and maintain production software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple technical priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience working with project management and development tools such as Jira, GitHub,
Linear, Asana, Notion, or similar.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with a high level of ownership.
Preferred
- Experience in EdTech, Gaming, AI, Music Technology, or consumer products.
- Experience with AI infrastructure and MLOps tools including RAG, Evals, Orchestration Tools, LLMCaching, etc.
- Experience with analytics and error handling such as Mixpanel, Sentry, and Crashlytics.
- Strong Experience with Firebase and GCP.
- Experience working with distributed international teams.

Compensation
Base Salary: €45,000-€70,000
Equity Participation: Optional based on experience
