Workday is looking for a Data Informatics Analyst, focused on reporting, with a passion for learning, helping business partners design reports and data analysis. This role will support the Workday Education organization with building and maintaining reporting solutions they can leverage to work more efficiently and make better business decisions. The ideal candidate will be confident working with large data sets, brings a detailed understanding of data modeling and reporting frameworks, and has the ability to drive process improvement strategies and solutions with Workday’s reporting tools. Superb communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to partner with our business counterparts to help influence reporting are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a technical expertise in Workday’s reporting and analytics framework, security framework, and Prism. Leverage your functional knowledge of Learning for the Extended Enterprise to help inform data and reporting decisions.
Gain a deep understanding of Workday’s data structure and integrations, including data from ancillary systems ensuring that the data delivered is accurate, consistent across systems and transparent to end users.
Collaborate with stakeholders and internal partners to identify, define, and clarify business requirements; translating requirements into self-service reporting solutions that create efficiency, provide data driven insights and predictions, and conform to standard methodologies and best practices.
Coordinate and perform system testing to ensure requirements are met. Work closely with stakeholders during user acceptance testing (UAT) including tracking issues through to resolution and securing end user acceptance signoff.
Leverage business knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities for proactive process improvements and the policies, methods and tools needed to deliver and maintain quality, accurate and transparent data.
Collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to seek out and create efficiencies for the business and identify trends, risks and opportunities for revenue growth.
Serve as a key resource to predict and test how feature releases, M&A activities, and configuration changes impact reporting and data integrity.
Serve as the data governance and reporting representative on organizational initiatives and projects, identifying, advising and solutioning for any respective reporting needs, impacts, or risks.
Collaborate with internal groups (WoW and CX Analytics) to execute strategic initiatives.
About You
P4 Basic Qualifications:
5+ years experience building custom reports in Workday, with experience in one or more of the following: Advanced, Matrix and Composite report types.
3+ years of experience with data modeling software (Prism preferred) including data modeling, lineage design, configuration and testing.
2+ years of experience configuring custom dashboards and/or Discovery Boards.
P3 Basic Qualifications:
3+ years experience building custom reports in Workday, with experience in one or more of the following: Advanced, Matrix and Composite report types.
2+ years of experience with data modeling software (Prism preferred) including data modeling, lineage design, configuration and testing.
1+ years of experience configuring custom dashboards and/or Discovery Boards.
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of custom objects preferred
Experience of the Workday security framework and integrations is a plus.
Experience in Smartsheet a plus
Demonstrable understanding of business requirements gathering (e.g., identifying and mapping business needs to application capabilities).
Ability to translate complex data analyses into understandable, insightful narratives to facilitate decision-making through Data Storytelling.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Enjoys communicating, collaborating, and establishing positive relationships with all levels of an organization
Self motivated and strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Capable of working in an agile environment.
