The Enterprise Planning & Performance team acts as the connective tissue linking all functions to work towards a shared set of priorities. We own the cycle of planning, executing, and analyzing company progress, translating high-level strategy into tangible actions and measurable results. We are building this capability in a dynamic environment and to support Workday as a newly minted S&P 500 company for its next phase of growth. The Principal, Enterprise Planning is a critical and visible role as the central point of engagement for Workday’s strategic planning and governance stakeholder communities. This role will build relationships, engage with, and earn the trust of numerous cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, two-way communication of key information. This role is a key influencer and enabler of enterprise-aligned planning processes and performance reviews.
Plan Stakeholder Communication: Designs the plan to proactively engage, communicate with, and intake key information from partners and stakeholders throughout the annual strategic planning and quarterly governance processes; solves for what an audience needs to know, when they need to know it.
Stakeholder Communication Modalities: Strategizes to leverage a range of static and dynamic communication modalities befitting the circumstance including oral, written, slides, intranet, Slack, video, survey, etc.
Lead Stakeholder Forums: Prepares for, conducts, leads, cascades, and follow-ups a variety of cadenced stakeholder forums encompassing large cross-functional, functional team meets, and individual one-on-ons.
Relationship Building: Fosters and builds strong and trusted relationships with immediate and extended team members, partner, stakeholders, and senior executives.
Change Management: Applies change management principles to improve engagement, reduce resistance, ensure successful outcomes, and continuous improvement.
Proactive Course Corrections: Proactively identify roadblocks and risks; drive timely course corrections to address off-track initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Drive Accountability: Drive accountability across partner planning functions and stakeholders, ensuring the strategic planning processes and performance reviews deliver their intended impact and achieve business results.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
12+ years of experience with a background in strategy and business operations, communications, change management, and/or program management.
12+ years of experience in building stakeholder relationships and stakeholder management within highly cross-functional teams.
10+ years of expertise in preparing and presenting to a range of seniority levels (including senior executives) to influence outcomes.
Other Qualifications:
Strong presence and interpersonal skills to interact, influence, and persuade individuals, teams, cross-functional teams, and executives.
Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
Strong intellectual curiosity, highly organized, effective communication and presentation, with excellent analytical skills.
Ability to handle ambiguity and drive clarity in complex and dynamic environments.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
