Position Overview - People & Culture SR MGR

Summary

This role is responsible for building and managing core HR functions, ensuring compliance within a regulated industry, and supporting the company’s culture and workforce as the organization scales. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic, and adaptable HR professional who enjoys creating structure and processes from the ground up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • HR Strategy & Organizational Development: Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support company growth. Support workforce planning and succession planning as the company expands.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Manage full-cycle recruitment. Work with hiring managers to craft job descriptions and interview processes. Build talent pipelines in specialized medical device and regulatory skill areas.
  • Onboarding & Training: Manage a structured onboarding program for new hires, ensuring training and certification requirements are met and recorded to align with industry standards.
  • Employee Relations & Culture: Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on HR-related matters, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture. Manage employee recognition programs, engagement activities, and feedback processes.
  • Performance Management: lead goal setting and performance review process. Provide coaching to managers on performance conversations and development plans.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. Responsible for communication of new or updated regulations and company policies.
  • Manage workers’ compensation, safety documentation, and related reporting.
  • Compensation & Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, conduct market benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices. Coordinate payroll changes and support payroll accuracy.
  • HR Systems & Recordkeeping: Implement and manage HRIS systems as the company grows, maintain secure and compliant employee records. Support data reporting for audits and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a medical device environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting small to mid-sized growing organizations.
  • Proven ability to build HR processes and infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Problem-solving mindset and comfort in fast-changing environments.
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.

Preferred

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
  • Familiarity with HRIS implementation.
  • Proven experience with full cycle Talent Acquisition
  • Experience in medical device industry desired
