We are seeking a strategic leader to head our People Services function at IAG, delivering high quality people services to more than 14,000 employees across Australia and New Zealand. As Executive Manager People Services, you will lead engaged, service-oriented teams across IAG’s People Connect, People Operations and Payroll functions in both Australia and New Zealand. Your role will focus on building strong service capability while modernising employee support through intuitive self-service, automation, AI solutions and streamlined processes. Balancing deep expertise in HR service delivery with strategic oversight, you will ensure scalable, efficient and high quality support that meets the needs of our people, delivers strong commercial outcomes, and is underpinned by robust governance, compliance and risk controls.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).

What You'll Do

  • Lead People Connect, People Operations and Payroll, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality experience across all employee touchpoints in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Set and deliver the Tier 0 (self‑service), Tier 1 & Tier 2 strategy, embedding intuitive digital pathways and achieving high first‑contact resolution.
  • Build strong capability, professionalism and a service mindset across teams, with ongoing training to enable effective adoption of automation and AI, and to strengthen human‑in‑the‑loop service delivery, ensuring employees are confident, adaptable and equipped to deliver high‑quality support.
  • Accelerate the implementation and adoption of digital self‑service tools, knowledge bases, AI assistants and automated workflows to enhance service efficiency and user experience.
  • Champion commercial decision‑making by improving employee experience while reducing cost‑to‑serve and driving measurable value across the People function.
  • Identify and execute process optimisation and automation opportunities across HR service tiers to improve scalability and reduce manual effort.
  • Lead critical change management and stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new tools, processes and service models as well as use data and insights to monitor performance, identify service trends and inform continual improvement across the People Services ecosystem.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience leading large‑scale HR operations, with direct accountability for both People Services teams and Payroll.
  • Demonstrated success designing or transforming tiered HR service models, including digital self‑service and automation.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate trends, connect People Services to organisational goals and balance user needs with commercial outcomes.
  • Experience leveraging AI‑enabled tools, knowledge management systems and workflow automation to enhance HR service delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to design solutions that improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance employee experience.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and change leadership capability, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Collaborative leader skilled at building partnerships, coaching teams and creating a customer‑centric culture.
