We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on People Operations Manager with deep expertise in Paylocity HRIS administration and optimization. This individual will serve as both a functional leader and system owner, ensuring Paylocity is fully leveraged to support the employee lifecycle, enhance data-driven decision-making, and scale People Operations effectively.

This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing People strategies by aligning systems, processes, and data with broader organizational goals while delivering a seamless and high-quality employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Strategy & Paylocity Ownership (Primary Focus)

  • Act as the primary owner and subject matter expert for Paylocity across the organization
  • Lead the configuration, optimization, and ongoing evolution of Paylocity to support all phases of the employee lifecycle (hire to retire)
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and scalability of HR data
  • Design and deliver advanced reporting, dashboards, and workforce analytics to support executive decision-making
  • Identify and implement automation and workflow enhancements to improve efficiency and employee experience
  • Serve as the escalation point for HRIS issues, system improvements, and vendor management

People Operations Leadership

  • Oversee and continuously improve core People Operations processes, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and organizational changes
  • Partner with leadership to drive operational excellence and employee experience initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR systems, policies, and processes
  • Develop and maintain scalable documentation, SOPs, and internal resources

Data, Analytics & Compliance

  • Translate HR data into actionable insights to inform workforce planning and business strategy
  • Monitor trends, identify gaps, and recommend data-driven improvements
  • Ensure compliance with all HR regulations, reporting requirements, and audit readiness
  • Maintain strong documentation and data practices aligned with company policies

Payroll & Benefits Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Payroll and Benefits teams to ensure seamless integration of HRIS data
  • Support benefits administration and vendor coordination where needed
  • Ensure all employee data changes are accurately reflected and communicated for payroll processing

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and contribute to People Operations initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Drive process improvement efforts, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and employee experience
  • Support leadership with presentations, reporting, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 4–6+ years of experience in People Operations, HRIS, or HR Operations roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on Paylocity administration experience (required)
  • Proven experience managing HR systems, employee lifecycle workflows, and reporting/analytics
  • Experience supporting payroll and benefits processes within an HRIS environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data/reporting tools
