People & Culture Business Partner
One Model
People & HR, Sales & Business Development
Mitcham VIC 3132, Australia
Our client is a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation with a long-standing commitment to compassionate, community-based palliative care. Their values; Compassion, Dignity, Excellence and Empowerment are lived every day by a workforce that supports patients and families through the most significant moments of their lives.
The People & Culture function is being rebuilt under new leadership, and this role sits at the heart of that transformation. Staff have historically had limited confidence in HR, and rebuilding that trust is the most important thing the new P&C team will do.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the People & Culture Business Partner, you will be a key point of contact for staff and managers across the organisation. You’ll own Employment Hero as the source of truth for all workforce information, support the full employee lifecycle, assist with ER matters, and partner with the new P&C Manager and the L&D Lead to lift the capability and confidence of managers across a close-knit, clinically-focused team.
Three days a week. Real work. Real impact. In an organisation that genuinely needs you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own and champion Employment Hero - embedding it as the primary HRIS and source of truth for all workforce data, contracts, and reporting
- Be a key point of contact for staff HR enquiries - handling them with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to rebuilding trust
- Support managers across the business as a trusted advisor on workforce matters, performance, and employee issues
- Participate in the early stages of ER matters including complaints, conduct, and performance management conversations, escalating where appropriate
- Manage WorkCover matters including return to work coordination
- Support learning and development initiatives alongside the L&D Lead, contributing to a culture of growth and continuous improvement
- Extract and analyse workforce data and metrics from Employment Hero to support data-driven decision making
- Support diversity and inclusion strategies and contribute to related reporting
- Assist with organisational change and transformation initiatives as the organisation continues to evolve
- Play a lead role in recruitment and onboarding of new staff, ensuring a positive candidate and new starter experience
- Contribute to the review and development of HR policies, procedures, and projects aligned to strategic priorities

A genuine rebuild, not a backfill. You’ll be part of establishing a P&C function that staff can actually rely on and believe in.
Flexibility that works. Three days per week with a mix of office and remote working, suited to candidates at a different life stage or with other commitments, this is meaningful work on your terms.
NFP salary packaging. Up to $15,900 per year can be salary packaged, meaningfully boosting your effective take-home pay beyond the headline salary.
A purpose-driven environment. You will work alongside people who genuinely care about the work they do and the people they serve.
Room to grow. As the P&C function matures, there is a genuine pathway to a more senior role for the right person.
