The opportunity

The Head of Talent and Organisational Capability provides strategic leadership to shape Council’s culture, engagement and workforce capability. Leading a multidisciplinary centre of excellence, the role drives organisation‑wide initiatives across organisational capability, learning and development, talent acquisition, DEI and child safety, ensuring people strategies enable Council’s purpose, values and long‑term direction.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and deliver organisation‑wide organisational capability, culture and change initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, talent, succession and retention strategies.
  • Design and embed learning, leadership development and performance frameworks.
  • Provide expert advice on DEI, child safety and inclusive workforce practices.
  • Lead and develop specialist teams delivering talent, capability and engagement programs.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Substantial senior experience in organisational capability and workforce planning roles.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver capability, culture and change frameworks.
  • Strong expertise across talent acquisition, leadership development and succession planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership of high‑performing, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly developed communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements
