We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in supporting individuals through the birth process and the postpartum period, including those experiencing postpartum depression. This part-time, remote position requires a compassionate professional who can provide exceptional virtual support and guidance.

Prenatal Support:

• Conduct virtual consultations with expectant parents to understand their birth preferences and concerns.
• Provide education on childbirth, pain management techniques, and the postpartum period.
• Assist in creating personalized birth plans.

Birth Support:

• Offer continuous virtual support during labor and delivery, including emotional encouragement and practical advice.
• Guide clients in effective communication with their healthcare providers.
• Assist with pain management strategies and comfort measures.

Postpartum Support:

• Provide virtual support and guidance to new parents during the postpartum period.
• Assist with breastfeeding education and troubleshooting.
• Offer strategies and resources for managing postpartum depression and other mental health challenges.
• Educate clients on newborn care, including sleep patterns, feeding, and developmental milestones.

Client Communication:

• Maintain regular contact with clients via phone, video calls, and email.
• Monitor clients’ progress and adjust support plans as needed.
• Provide referrals to additional resources and professionals when necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep detailed records of client interactions and support provided.
• Prepare reports on client progress and outcomes.
  

Required:

• NBC-HWC designation (National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach).
• Proven experience supporting individuals through childbirth and the postpartum period.
• Strong understanding of postpartum depression and related mental health conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support.
• Comfortable working remotely and using virtual communication tools.
• Flexibility to accommodate clients’ schedules, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred:

• Certified Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula credentials from a recognized organization (e.g., DONA, CAPPA, etc.).
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).
• Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS).
• Registered Nurse (RN) with lactation certification.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) with lactation certification.
