About Us:

We are a mission-driven health tech company dedicated to transforming lives through personalized support and expert guidance. Our team is committed to empowering individuals facing serious health conditions—such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, or substance use disorders—as well as those facing everyday issues like eating healthier or losing weight.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Navigator to join our growing team. This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 5 hours per week, with the potential to transition into a full-time role within 6-9 months as we continue to grow. In this role, you will provide emotional support, simplify complex medical information, and assist individuals in preparing for surgical procedures. You will also collaborate with our insurance navigation team to help members access cost-effective, in-network care. This position requires exceptional communication skills, empathy, and professionalism, especially in high-stress situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted guide, helping individuals navigate the healthcare system, whether they are managing serious health conditions or pursuing general wellness goals.
  • Offer emotional support to members and their families, addressing challenges related to health, nutrition, and personal development.
  • Simplify complex medical topics for educational purposes without offering direct medical advice.
  • Prepare individuals for surgical procedures by providing guidance on expectations, preparation steps, and hospital stay essentials.
  • Partner with the insurance navigator to locate in-network providers and ensure members receive affordable, high-quality care.
  • Schedule medical appointments for members or their families as part of our concierge services. (This role may evolve as appointment-setting demand grows and a dedicated team is hired.)
  • Maintain accurate records of member interactions, progress, and key insights.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, coaches, and community organizations to deliver exceptional care and support.
  • Engage with members through chat, email, or video calls to address questions and concerns in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a healthcare-related role, such as patient advocacy, case management, or medical navigation.
  • Strong understanding of health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and substance use disorders.
  • Ability to explain complex medical information in a clear, approachable manner.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes and provider networks is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for virtual engagement.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a fast-growing, mission-driven company making a meaningful impact in people's lives.
  • Work in a collaborative and supportive environment with opportunities for growth.
  • Help shape the future of healthcare navigation and coaching services.
