Role: Senior Backend Engineer - Web Technologies & Email Architecture Expert
OpenAxis (Techstars ‘21) is seeking a senior backend engineer to help develop a new product. After raising a pre-seed VC round and developing two revenue generating data visualization products, the team is currently leveraging it’s experience in data analytics and AI to improve the outbound sales cycle for startups.
Qualifications:
Deep understanding of email architecture, including spam detection algorithms, bounce rates, DMARC protocols, and experience with email service providers like Mailgun.
Proficient in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, with a strong command of Node.js.
Skilled in cloud-based infrastructure, with a preference for candidates with AWS experience.
While the role is backend-centric, knowledge of NextJS will be considered a valuable asset.
5+ years of experience in web development, with a focus on backend technologies.
Role Responsibilities:
Architect and drive the development of the backend to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
Implement solutions to maintain high email deliverability (low bounce rate) for our users.
Integrate and leverage APIs, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, to embed advanced AI functionalities into our services.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop high-performance applications that meet user needs.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of authentication solutions, utilizing Supabase within a Next.js framework.
Participate in customer interactions to gain insights into user challenges, influencing the prioritization of impactful solutions.
