What we're looking for
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Product Designer (UI/UX design) who wants to democratize data storytelling with AI.
OpenAxis (Techstars’21) is a venture backed startup simplifying data storytelling with a point and click, no code, no pivot table chart creator and 16k MAUs. Our mission is to make data storytelling more accessible, in doing so engendering a culture of data literacy and transparency.
We have recently begun integrating AI into the platform to make it easier for users to analyze data and create visualizations with natural language and AI.
We are a small team seeking a proven Product Designer that can lead product design and development, and some familiarity with data analytics/visualization. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor, work closely & directly with the founders, and shape the direction of the company.
Responsibilities:
Lead the product design (UI/UX) and roadmap in line with our goal to integrate AI into our platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and AI/ML specialists, to define product requirements and guide product development/design.
Oversee the design of user-friendly and intuitive interfaces, ensuring that the product is not only functional but also enjoyable to use.
Help conduct user research to understand our users' needs and translate these insights into product features and improvements.
Monitor and analyze product performance, and make data-driven decisions to enhance the product.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in AI, data visualization, and UI/UX design, and apply this knowledge to our product.
Lead, mentor, and expand the product and design teams as necessary.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a product design and leadership role, preferably in a tech or AI-focused company, 4+ years
Strong background in UI/UX design, with a portfolio showcasing your design skills.
Experience with product development processes and methodologies.
Familiarity with AI and data visualization is a plus.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.
