The Oper team operates throughout Europe, with over 21 nationalities and two main physical offices in Zürich and Brussels.

As a technology-driven company, we use a modern tech stack including Angular, NX, NgRx, RxJS, Python, Django, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes and a range of cloud providers and tools. Tasks

To support our rapid Pan-European growth we are looking for an experienced QA Engineering Lead to join our product team in designing, building & delivering a high-quality platform increment on each cycle and implement an efficient & effective quality assurance framework.

  • Lead a remote QA team to develop and implement quality assurance processes, reporting and technologies
  • Work closely with Product managers, Designers, Engineers and support teams to resolve defects and environment issues
  • Mentor the QA team members, including team members' growth plan, supporting activities, catch-ups
  • Lead the design and adoption of test strategies & test plans, checklists, test estimates, progress reports for test executions, various defect and statistical data reports, etc.
  • Develop test strategies for business-critical projects to ensure product correctness before launch
  • Plan, develop and execute product quality strategies together with the CTO & Head of Product
  • Spearhead initiatives to build a quality-driven culture
  • Partner with Product Engineers & DevOps to leverage automation for scalable solutions to prevent regressions and ensure product reliability
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to improve quality
  • Define and implement QA processes to optimize and scale testing within the product
  • Establish and drive the adoption of quality metrics that help measure test effectiveness, efficiency, and overall product quality
  • Assess non-functional (e.g. i18n, l10n, a11y) product quality in collaboration with Product Managers & Designers and provide key insights to product squads

Requirements

What makes you a great fit

An ideal candidate will have a background in a technical field, with strong test engineering experiences. They are a self-starter, detail-oriented, able to deal with ambiguity and have a passion for quality. They can communicate effectively and collaborate with kindness in a remote setting.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with industry-standard test automation tools & automation frameworks
  • 6+ years of Quality Engineering and/or test engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with planning, designing, executing tests and knowledge of performance and stress testing
  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality test automation for web applications
  • Experience in Python, JS, Java, C/C++ or equivalent coding language
  • Experience with industry-standard test automation tools & automation frameworks
