Job Summary:

We are setting out on a project to map hundreds of stores throughout the US through the end of September. This is project-based work and will be full-time through the end of September, and require extensive travel across the US.

To set up a store for indoor GPS, a mapper needs to physically arrive at the location and walk

all the walkable areas of the store, holding a smartphone that has our app installed on it (we

provide that!). As the mapper walks, the smartphone is recording geomagnetic data about the

location, allowing us to activate the service.

What does mapping entail?

• Pick up a mapping kit (includes everything you need to do the job) from a nearby UPS/Fedex point.
• Attend a 30 minutes online training over a video-call prior to the site visit.
• Arrive at the scheduled site on time, with the kit and your personal phone (fully charged).
• Record the surroundings using the provided mapping phone, by walking up and down the aisles to cover all “walkable” areas while marking your position on a map in Oriient’s mapping app.
• Being in contact with Oriient’s remote call-center, via Google Meet on your personal phone, throughout the process for support and instructions.
• At the end of the day, fully charge the phone and power bank.
• Upon completion (between a few hours to a couple of days), move on to the next site if scheduled, or return the kit with a provided shipping label.

Requirements:

• A strong sense of direction & orientation (to mark pinpoints on a map).
• Patient and detail-oriented - precision is the key to progress.
• Comfortable with being monitored and keeping on-going communications with an operator throughout the day.
• Physically able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Self-motivated, communicative, and independent.
• Comfortable with technology and remote supervision.
• Fully available and open to travelling to complete mappings across the USA.
• Legally able to work in the USA.
• US Driver’s license and able to drive a car to the required store locations.
