Job Summary:
As we expand, we’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist who is passionate about financial precision to own our daily financial operations and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, loves the world of numbers and payroll, and wants to help build scalable financial foundations for a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day Accounting
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions - invoices, receipts, and expenses.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Process employee reimbursements and company expenses.
- Prepare monthly VAT and supplier reports, coordinate with external CPA for submission.
- Manage cash flow between various accounts in multiple currencies.
Payroll & Benefits
- Drive the end-to-end payroll process, partnering with People Ops and external vendors to maintain data integrity and guarantee on-time payments while maintaining uncompromising standards of accuracy and service.
- Track employee benefits, pension contributions, and other payroll-related entries.
- Manage monthly payroll journal entries and reconcile with financial records.
- Stay up-to-date with labor laws and payroll regulations to ensure full compliance.
Reporting & Compliance
- Support monthly and quarterly management reports.
- Maintain compliance with Israeli accounting and tax regulations.
- Prepare files and documentation for annual audits and tax filings.
Requirements
- Certified Bookkeeper (Type 2/3) and Certified Payroll Accountant – Mandatory.
- 3+ years’ bookkeeping and Payroll accounting experience, ideally in a tech company or startup environment.
- Strong command of Israeli accounting standards and VAT/payroll regulations.
- Proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets and experience with Israeli accounting and salary software.
- Fluent in Hebrew and English (written & spoken).
- Exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and organizational skills.
- A self-sufficient professional who excels at working independently, managing multiple priorities, and communicating effectively across different departments.
- A proactive 'can-do' approach with a genuine passion for the profession and attention to the smallest details.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with international entities or multi-currency bookkeeping.
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup.
