Accounting Operations Leader – India Operations and US support
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Operations Leader to oversee and optimize all aspects of accounting operations for our India-based operations while providing support to overall corporate accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, management skills, and the ability to implement process improvements. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and driving operational efficiency within the accounting team.The position will work hand in hand with our Corporate Controller and U.S. accounting leadersand require relationship building and alignment with FP&A, IT, Business Systems, Legal, Product/Engineering. This position will report to the VP, Corporate Controller and must have the ability to problem-solve, work both autonomously and in a team-oriented environment. At Outreach we expect our leaders and people managers to be effective doers and reviewers/people managers.
Your Daily Adventures Will Include:
- Oversee the full range of India-based accounting operations, including local procurement, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll.Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth integration of accounting processes for U.S.-based operations.
- Provide financial insights and support to cross-functional teams for decision-making purposes.
- Coordinate with global finance teams to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and reporting standards.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data, ensuring compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS) and other relevant regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all local statutory and tax filing requirements, including GST, Income Tax, TDS, and others.
- Stay updated on changes to local tax regulations and accounting standards, ensuring that the organization remains compliant.
- Monitor and review the reconciliation of all accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure adherence to Indian tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Cost Management Accountant) or MBA (Finance) from a recognized institution.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting operations, with at least 5-7 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in managing accounting teams and handling end-to-end accounting operations.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting and tax regulations (Ind-AS, GST, Income Tax, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Netsuite, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi (or regional languages, as required).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
