Your Daily Adventures Will Include
- Direct contribution to the program leadership to define, build out, and manage comprehensive programs and projects to support Trust & Safety and Security goals. (Examples: Anti-Abuse Program, DNS Management)
- Using your technical skills by troubleshooting with ESP sending platforms such as SendGrid. Sharing the responsibility of deliverability tools like Validity and the Everest Platform
- Drive the technical implementation and leadership of BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification)
- Define, document, and manage all aspects of Email Policy & Governance (application, customer, and corporate) and the acceptable use policy (AUP) enforcement strategy
- Design and propose products and tools to safely and compliantly monetize email on the Outreach platform
- Develop training documentation for Application Security, Email Deliverability & Anti-Abuse Best Practices, technical training pertaining to DNS, DMARC & SPF. The training audiences include Go-to-Market (GTM), business partners, and support teams to drive sales enablement, customer retention, and business strategy alignment for email
- While supporting product safety & monetization, this role will provide direction, ideas, and detailed feature/product requirement documentation to the Email Product Management Team to improve customer analytics, compliance, and data accuracy
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry infrastructure and terminology, such as spam trap networks, threat feeds, content filtering, and blocklisting. Familiar with Spamhaus, Proofpoint, Mimecast, VirusTotal, and Talos
- Outline business risk and propose business solutions for changing best practices around sales industry email sending practices
- Support operations and incident response by managing the processing of takedowns and processing abuse reports efficiently and accurately
- Set up automations/alerting monitoring of domains for blocklisting/reputation. Familiar with shared click tracking domains and sending domains (Outreach and customer domains)
- Create platform-wide email sending performance and compliance metrics. Will work with transactional emails for the application and shared click tracking domains for tracking health
- Overhaul the Best Sending Practice strategy for all customers across the platform and internal business operations
- Manage and nurture industry relationships, actively participating with email and anti-abuse industry groups like M3AAWG, APWG, and Email Geeks. Stay up to date with industry changes, standards, and best practices from an email sending perspective
- Own and drive a DNS Management Process to ensure the necessary approvals are captured and change management procedures are enforced to meet DNS governance standards
Our Vision of You
- 7+ years of experience in a Technical Program Manager role focused on email deliverability or security capacity in a fast-paced, SaaS software company
- Own the end-to-end delivery of the Email Governance and Anti-Abuse Programs by defining program roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics across engineering, product, security, legal, and support teams
- Strong working knowledge of foundational email infrastructure concepts, including DNS, domain governance, and security
- Proven track record in optimizing and technical troubleshooting large-scale email deliverability
- Translate trust, safety, and compliance requirements into detailed technical requirements and program plans; drive alignment with Product and Engineering through technical design reviews, tradeoff discussions, and delivery tracking
- Experienced with reviewing technical designs and architecture at a system level, which would include PRDs for product ideas (PRD Example: Deliverability Suite)
- Understand how click tracking, open rates, and seed listing work. Be able to have technical conversations with the Engineering organization and Outreach customers
- Able to articulate scale, reliability, and abuse vectors in distributed systems (Eg: 2024 Yahoogle email scenario)
- Have expert-level knowledge of global email regulatory and compliance frameworks, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA, and CASL
- Experienced in defining and managing strategies for brand protection in the digital ecosystem
