About the Team
The Intelligence Tooling & Enablement is a new internal-facing platform team dedicated to introduce and enable various AI based solutions to the entire engineering organization. Team will be focusing to define a vision and modernize software development process by creating services, adjusting processes, documentation, or whatever else is helpful in order to transform Outreach Engineering into an AI native organization. This wide and intentionally vague charter encompasses a slew of evolving topics. We try to proactively get ahead and build the tooling, systems and training needed for all our engineering teams to adopt new to era of software development and set them for success by improving development workflow.
Primary areas of coverage:
Create a vision, strategy and a plan for modernizing software development experience
Build and integrate AI services into existing engineering systems and developer workflows.
Lead a team of engineers focusing on building internal AI based solutions
Build internal AI based tooling platforms that improve developer productivity.
Assessing external AI tooling vendors and deciding between build vs buy.
Driving adoption of AI tooling across engineering teams.
Introduce tooling and monitor performance, reliability, credit consumption, and ROI of AI-enabled tools.
Defining and tracking operational excellence standards

The Role
In this pivotal role, you will not just be a builder of tools, but a technical leader who deeply understands the capabilities and trajectory of the application of AI across the developer experience
You will have a real impact on the engineering platform, helping evolve our technology stack and build reusable components that help the other backend teams

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Help define and shape the vision, strategy and roadmap for the team
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers into a high performing and self-organizing team
  • Build a team culture of customer obsession, growth, trust and got-your-back spirit. Guide the team to use best quality practices while building amazing experiences, using your natural instinct to put the customer first
  • Drive excellence by reviewing others’ work through code reviews and technical design reviews to provide meaningful feedback around code quality, performance, maintainability
  • Engage with partner teams to help determine the priority of items on the team’s roadmap

Our Vision of You

  • 3+ years of managing software engineering teams
  • 10+ years of software development experience on backend, large scale distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, AI-based testing tools, and automation frameworks used in modern software engineering.
  • Familiarity with modern AI technologies such as LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, model evaluation, and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of development workflows including planning, coding, testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
  • Experience with modern cloud environments and AI infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Understanding of how to connect AI systems with enterprise data sources (documentation systems, code repositories, ticketing systems).
  • Ability to identify opportunities where AI can accelerate development processes.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI usage, data privacy, and model governance in enterprise environments.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, product, and operations teams.
  • Defining and executing a roadmap for integrating AI across the development lifecycle.
  • Translating complex AI capabilities into practical benefits for leadership and engineering teams.
  • Strong problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills
  • Experience as a manager or Lead Engineer/ Technical Lead on a team that delivers automation frameworks
  • Demonstrated success owning and delivering on ambiguous problem statements from start to finish
  • Strong growth mindset and earned trust with team and cross functional partners
  • You understand which details are important and have the ability to prioritize incremental delivery

185000 - 240000 USD a year

The annual base salary range for this role is $185,000-$240,000 USD. You may also be offered incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the your skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
