About the role

Overture runs afterschool programs where kids learn to create with AI. We're looking for a part-time creative producer who can use today's best AI tools to make images, videos, music, games, and more for a young audience, and who has the judgment to do it in a way that's safe and appropriate for kids. This is a hands-on, high-volume creative role with regular deadlines. The details of the work are shared with candidates during the hiring process.

Who we're looking for

  • A strong creative generalist. You can produce fun, high-quality work across images, video, music, and simple games, and you have a feel for what a 7-to-14-year-old will find delightful. Raw AI output isn't the finish line for you; you polish until it's actually good.
  • Fast and fluent with AI tools. You're proficient in tools like Rosebud, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Suno, you iterate on prompts rather than settling for the first result, and you're always trying new creative tools and thinking about how people could use them to be creative.
  • Comfortable with rough, unpolished input. You can look at a kid's drawing or handwritten idea, understand what they're going for, make a reasonable creative call, and know when to ask a question instead of guessing.
  • Child safety and content judgment. You know what's age-appropriate, you can gracefully redirect an idea that isn't (a kid who wants something violent gets a fun alternative, not a cold refusal), and you make sure the characters and scenes you create reflect the kids in our classrooms. You treat student privacy seriously and never put identifying information about a child into a third-party tool.
  • A clear, reliable communicator. You write well, respond promptly, and can work with teachers and program staff to understand what's needed and by when.
  • Organized under a deadline. You can manage a steady queue of small requests, keep track of every one, and turn work around quickly and consistently.
  • Aware of IP and platform rules. You know that content for kids needs to be clear of copyrighted characters and real artists' voices, and you're comfortable learning and following each tool's terms of use.
  • Nice to have: light editing skills in something like Canva or CapCut, or experience working with kids or teachers.

Logistics

  • Fully remote, anywhere in the US, with weekday availability.
  • 10–15 hours per week, flexible within that window.
  • $15/hour, paid as an hourly W-2 employee.
  • We provide all tool subscriptions. You'll need your own computer and reliable internet.
  • A background check is required, since this role supports programs for children.

How to apply

Apply below and include a Google Drive link to a portfolio of your AI-generated work (or email it to careers@overtureai.org). The portfolio should include one of each of the following:

  1. An image
  2. A 60-second movie
  3. A song
  4. A video game
  5. A 3D model
  6. An app

For each piece, include the tool(s) you used to create it and a timestamp showing how long it took you to make. We care about both quality and speed. Make sure the Drive link is set so anyone with the link can view.

After you apply, we'll send instructions for a short sample task.
