We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Refining Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to recovering rare earth elements through solvent extraction in a refinery setting. You will leverage your extensive experience in refinery operations and contribute significantly to this cutting-edge process, ensuring efficient and responsible extraction of these critical resources for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and operate solvent extraction equipment within the refinery, including mixers, settlers, pumps, and associated instrumentation.
- Monitor process parameters, analyze data, and make adjustments to optimize performance, yield, and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of solvent extraction equipment, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements for the solvent extraction system, collaborating with engineers and chemists.
- Assist with pilot-scale testing and data collection for process optimization initiatives.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on safe and efficient operation of the solvent extraction system.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations within the refinery and solvent extraction operation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of operational data, maintenance activities, and process adjustments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the refinery and solvent extraction system.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training or certification in chemical processing or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in refinery operations, with a strong understanding of distillation, extraction, and separation processes.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining chemical processing equipment, including pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams and technical manuals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented and committed to safety and quality standards.
- Passion for clean energy and sustainable resource extraction.
