3.3. Sr. Refining Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and operate rare earth metal production equipment within the refinery, ensuring smooth operation and optimal performance.
- Monitor process parameters, analyze data, and make adjustments tooptimize performance, yield, and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting ofequipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements for the refining equipment, collaborating with engineers and chemists.
- Assist with pilot-scale testing and data collection for process optimization initiatives, contributing valuable insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on the safe and efficient operation of the solvent extraction system, sharing knowledge and best practices to ensure a skilled workforce.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations within the refinery and solvent extraction operation, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of operational data, maintenance activities, and process adjustments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the refinery, actively seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
- Contribute to a culture of safety with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety practices, risk mitigation strategies, and overall safety culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in metallurgical equipment maintenance or related fields is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in refinery operations, with a strong understanding of separation processes.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 50 lbs, for extended periods of time.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in an industrial setting, including experience with hot work, forklift operation, respiratory protection, and hazard communications.
- Proven ability to operate and maintain chemical processing equipment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting process flow diagrams and technical manuals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality standards
