Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Chemical Engineer who is dedicated to refining rare earth metals. You'll focus on developing and optimizing processes, including rare earth separation, in our refinery. You will work to ensure efficiency and sustainability in producing essential resources for various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the solvent extraction processes for efficient and selective recovery of rare earth elements from diverse feedstocks.
  • Lead pilot-scale testing, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives, including solvent selection, extractant development, and flowsheet refinement.
  • Drive the engineering design of solvent extraction systems, including equipment specification and sizing.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration of solvent extraction operations within the overall production process.
  • Resolve operational challenges, identify process enhancement opportunities, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry advancements in solvent extraction and rare earth processing.
  • Generate comprehensive technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and progress.
  • Champion safety and environmental stewardship within the solvent extraction operation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in materials engineering within metals production or a related sector, particularly in high-temperature production environments.
  • In-depth understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles, including chemical equilibrium, mass transfer, and separation science.
  • Proficiency in utilizing process simulation tools, such as ASPEN Plus or CHEMCAD, to optimize process design and performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex process challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, independently driving projects to completion while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and adherence to industry best practices in the hydrometallurgical and chemical sectors.
