2.1. Director of Finance and Operations

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily financial activities, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, cash flow monitoring, wire transfers, and bill payment, ensuring all processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company policies.
- Manage administrative functions, including facilities, vendor relationships, and operational workflows, to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Collaborate with leadership and department heads to develop and manage budgets and forecasts that align with strategic and operational goals.
- Prepare and deliver timely and compliant financial reports to management, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls and operational best practices to safeguard assets, improve efficiency, and mitigate risks.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Partner with engineering, R&D, operations, and other teams to align financial and operational plans with company objectives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance and operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee relationships with external accounting firms, auditors, and other vendors, ensuring timely execution of audits, tax filings, and other external obligations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to support financial and operational growth in a scalable and sustainable manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, MBA, or other advanced degrees preferred.
- 5-7+ years of progressive experience in finance, operations, or a similar role, with startup or early-stage company experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proven ability to oversee and optimize administrative processes, including facilities management and vendor coordination.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
- Demonstrated experience creating scalable processes and systems in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams, with a strong focus on collaboration and growth.
- Exceptional ability to convey financial and operational concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences.
