5.2. Principal Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, specification, and implementation of electrical systems for industrial processes, including high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and safety systems.
- Develop and oversee electrical architecture, wiring diagrams, and layouts to support production processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Specify and integrate electrical equipment, including power supplies, control panels, complex instrumentation and sensors.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimized performance.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades and oversee their implementation to align with future growth and operational goals.
- Manage projects from conception through commissioning, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineering, controls, and operations, to align project goals with organizational objectives.
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement fail-safe systems to maintain operational safety.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in electrical engineering to support process and system development.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Work closely with R&D and process engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall production processes.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to drive successful project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical system design, implementation, and maintenance in industrial or process environments.
- Extensive knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical safety in industrial settings.
- Experience with high-temperature or chemical processes is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in CAD tools for electrical schematics and design documentation.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to resolving challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems, including PLCs and SCADA platforms is preferred.
- Experience in scaling electrical systems for rapidly growing industrial facilities.
