6.2. Electrical Engineer II

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation systems for new and existing process units
- Create and update detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent
- Specify and select hardware components including PLCs, VFDs, circuit protection devices, sensors, and actuators
- Build, install, and commission electrical panels and field wiring for R&D and pilot systems
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve safety, reliability, and performance
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, etc.)
- Support system integration with process engineers, including sensor feedback, alarms, and automated control logic
- Contribute to electrical documentation packages including BOMs, settings, test plans, and maintenance procedures
- Lead hands-on electrical assembly work as needed to meet project milestones
- Identify opportunities for system standardization and design-for-scale in preparation for commercial deployment
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in electrical design and implementation in an industrial, manufacturing, or R&D environment
- Proven experience designing and commissioning electrical systems including panels, power distribution, and controls
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical (or similar) for schematic and layout development
- Strong understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, motor control, and instrumentation
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, UL)
- Experience specifying and configuring industrial electrical components (PLCs, VFDs, relays, etc.)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment across multiple physical sites
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on complex electrical systems
