7.4. Project Engineer II - Recycling

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Phoenix’s owner-side engineering execution for facility expansion and construction workstreams, with a focus on recycling and byproduct recovery systems
- Review contractor deliverables (PFDs/P&IDs, layouts, isometrics, equipment GA drawings, vendor data sheets, I&E packages) for constructability, operability, and alignment with Phoenix process intent
- Support installation planning and field execution, including equipment setting, tie-ins, piping runs, instrumentation installation, and utility connections
- Manage technical coordination with contractors in the field (RFIs, redlines, field changes, punchlists, turnover packages, as-builts)
- Support procurement execution by reviewing vendor submittals, coordinating FAT/SAT needs where applicable, and ensuring equipment meets performance requirements
- Participate in commissioning and startup activities: pre-startup safety reviews, HAZOPs, checkouts, loop checks support, water runs, initial operations support, and stabilization
Qualifications:
- B.S. in a Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related physical engineering discipline
- 2 – 4 years of experience with capital projects, plant engineering, construction support, commissioning/startup, industrial operations, or EPC/contractor execution
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment 5 days a week
- Ability to read and redline drawings (P&IDs, isometrics, equipment layouts) and coordinate technical feedback with contractors
- Strong technical fundamentals and the ability to turn process intent into physical systems that work
