Responsibilities
As a Service Technician, you will:
- Repair and Maintain Elevator Systems: Service, repair, adjust, and test elevators and related mechanical/electrical equipment in private and public settings.
- Troubleshoot and Diagnose Issues: Pay close attention to detail, detect changes in elevator performance, identify causes, and perform timely repairs.
- Emergency and On-Call Support: Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to address after-hours emergencies, entrapments, or urgent repairs.
- Work Independently: Meet customer needs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and fit-for-duty requirements. Apprentices will only join on-call rotations after completing required training.
- Travel as Needed: Be available for occasional overnight travel based on project needs.
- Lift and Move Equipment: Handle lifting requirements, especially for repair teams, based on project demands.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ independent experience as an Elevator Mechanic/Technician.
- Credentials: Valid elevator mechanic license or state certification, with additional experience considered.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities to quickly resolve issues.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical workload as verified by a fit-for-duty assessment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel and adapt to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
