Description: PierSight is building satellites in-house and we’re ~1 year away from launching our first spacecraft. To hit schedule, we need a sharp, hands-on Supply Chain Associate who can own the full flow: procurement, buying, vendor follow-ups, imports, and inventory. This is a high-ownership role ideal for someone early in their career who wants to become the Head of Supply Chain & Manufacturing in a space company. You’ll work directly with engineering teams, AIT, and leadership to ensure the right parts arrive on time, land cleanly through customs, and are stored and issued correctly.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Vendor Management (~40% of your time)

a. Own RFQs, quote comparisons, PO creation, order acknowledgements, and delivery commitments.

b. Drive supplier follow-ups, expediting, and recovery plans for late parts.

c. Track lead times, MOQs, alternates (with engineering), and negotiate commercial terms.

d. Maintain supplier database, pricing history, and supplier performance (OTD, responsiveness).

2. Imports, Logistics & Documentation (~25% of your time)

a. Coordinate international shipments end-to-end with freight forwarders/couriers and suppliers.

b. Ensure shipment readiness: commercial invoice, packing list, CoC, AWB/BL, insurance, etc.

c. Work with CHA/forwarders to clear shipments, troubleshoot holds, and keep internal stakeholders informed. d. Understand and apply Incoterms (EXW/FCA/FOB/CIF/DDP) to control landed cost and risk.

3. Inventory, Stores & Traceability (~25% of your time)

a. Run GRN process, bin/location management, stock accuracy, and cycle counts.

b. Ensure correct storage and handling (basic ESD discipline, moisture-sensitive items awareness where applicable).

c. Manage kitting/issuance/returns and maintain clean inventory records.

d. Track critical items: serial/lot numbers (where required), expiries (adhesives/consumables), and shortages.

4. Systems, Reporting & Process Building (~10% of your time)

a. Maintain a single source of truth for PO status, ETA, and next action.

b. Set up/maintain part masters, vendor masters, and reorder timelines

c. Produce weekly dashboards: late parts, at-risk items, incoming shipments, inventory health.

Candidate Profile Must-haves

  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement/supply chain/logistics/inventory (hardware heavy industry strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience coordinating shipments and imports Experience with ERP and structured GRN/inventory workflows.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; able to maintain clean trackers and spot inconsistencies fast.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms and standard import/export documentation.
  • Comfort reading BOMs, part numbers, revisions; high attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator who can push suppliers professionally and escalate internally
  • High ownership mentality

Good-to-haves

  • Experience in aerospace/defence/electronics manufacturing/automotive Tier-1 procurement.
