This job posting is specific to the DoD’s Skillbridge program and is only open to personnel eligible to apply for a DoD Skillbridge program. Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply for SkillBridge. SkillBridge permits you to use up to the last 180 days of service to train and learn with an industry partner. During SkillBridge participation, you continue to receive military compensation and you are covered by your military benefits. Release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent, however, and your unit commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners. Our drone-deployable line sensors wirelessly transmit environmental and line characteristics to an online secure database to help utilities push more power through existing lines, prevent wildfires, and improve grid reliability. We're looking for an IT & Cybersecurity Specialist who can mature our internal IT infrastructure, implement IT and security tools, and guide us through SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance.

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote role for an IT & Cybersecurity Specialist. As the IT & Cybersecurity Specialist at Pitch Aeronautics, you will lead the development and implementation of IT and cybersecurity strategies to support our growing infrastructure. You will ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of our IT systems, manage endpoint tools, develop and enforce IT policies, and guide us through achieving and maintaining SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and improve internal IT infrastructure, including endpoint management systems.
• Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies and protocols.
• Select and implement endpoint security tools, enterprise software tools, and SIEM platforms.
• Drive the company's SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance efforts, including policy creation, audits, and ongoing monitoring.
• Establish and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) and other security policies within AWS.
• Implement cloud security within AWS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cybersecurity best practices are embedded across the organization.
• Develop documentation for IT processes, disaster recovery plans, and other cybersecurity plans.
• Provide training and support to team members on IT and cybersecurity best practices.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, proactively implementing IT and cybersecurity systems, tools, and policies from scratch.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and cybersecurity operations.
• Hands-on experience with endpoint management tools, SIEM systems, and enterprise software tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and IAM policies.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance requirements and audit processes.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and controls.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with tools such as Jamf Pro (Mac management), ConnectWise (RMM), SentinelOne (EDR), Cisco Umbrella (Internet Protection), Qualys (Application Patching), and ThreatLocker (Workstation Policies)
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+.
• Experience managing cloud security in AWS or other commercial cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or HIPAA.
• Experience creating and managing written IT and cybersecurity policies.
