Pitch has developed a drone to install our line sensor, bird diverters, and other equipment on power lines. Our drone-deployable line sensors wirelessly transmit environmental and line characteristics to an online secure API to help utilities push more power through existing lines, prevent wildfires, and improve grid reliability. We're looking for a bookkeeper and executive assistant who can own invoicing, bill pay, payroll, and bookkeeping.

Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant. The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, including invoicing, bill payment, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Bookkeeper will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial transactions, including invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Review timesheets for completeness and accuracy
  • Process payroll for employees (bi-weekly) using Gusto and perform labor distribution across contracts
  • Pay invoices
  • Categorize transactions using QuickBooks Online and perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Organize and maintain financial and administrative documentation
  • Provide administrative support to the leadership team as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Based in the U.S.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing (at least 1-2 years of relevant experience)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong proficiency in Quickbooks Online
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with startups or small businesses
  • Experience working with Gusto
  • Experience communicating with Slack
  • Familiarity with financial compliance and tax regulations
  • Familiarity with Government accounting requirements and DCAA accounting principles
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • This position could grow with the company. Additional valuable/relevant skills include: managing state reporting and compliance, social media content management, design skills, business administration.

Work Schedule

  • Approximately 15-20 hours per month, with extremely flexible scheduling. Majority of hours may occur during month end/close.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate of $20-25/hr.
