Satellite imagery today is over-priced, infrequent, and doesn't contain enough useful information to tackle some of humanity's pressing problems such as flagging pest infestations and crop diseases in time, detecting forest fires early, tackling air and water pollution levels, detecting oil spills and gas leaks and mapping large scale geological changes among other things. Pixxel builds and operates a constellation of inexpensive nanosatellites that provide global coverage every 24 hours at a level of detail not possible today to help tackle these problems. The satellites beam down high-quality hyperspectral data which contains useful information in more than 200 spectral bands (compared to the 3 to 10 bands today) helping us detect things existing satellites can't.
