About The Role

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in Microservices development. This role will report to the CTO and is available to work remotely or from our Minneapolis Office. Players Health is a distributed workforce that offers a flexible, remote and/or hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of java-based web-app development using Spring. You are passionate about solving complex issues using and unafraid to take risks. You will exhibit a professional maturity and strong sense of resilience and ownership of your work. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our Product team to build innovative insurance solutions to our customers.

Role comes with a salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $80,000 to $110,000.

Responsibilities (are Inclusive Of But Not Limited To)

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements.
• Design new micro services and API development and customize current applications in the platform.
• Participate in writing requirements, design, and implementation.
• Participate in the development of new algorithms.
• Developing and implementing back-end architecture to support user interfaces and other web services.
• Proven experience in detailing APIs using an API documentation framework (Swagger).
• Investigate and resolve production issues to maintain a stable production environment
• Work as a part of a small team that includes developers, designers, QA experts, and managers.
• Write unit test cases to ensure error-free code to increase performance and code coverage of the back end applications.
• Drive continuous improvement with the development of new standards, best practices, and process improvements
• Work with third-party dependencies and APIs
• Coordinate with the cross-functional teams to build apps in stipulated time/budget.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ experience backend Microservices development experience.
• In-depth knowledge of java-based web-app application development using Spring/ Spring Boot
• Experience working with Microservices architectures.
• Experience with SOAP and Restful APIs
• Demonstrated experience with Application Servers and Web Servers
• Demonstrated experience testing frameworks such as Unit, Mockito
• Knowledge of unit testing and code debugging
• Experience working with REST APIs, document request models, offline storage, and third-party libraries.
• Hands on experience on Spring boot & Microservices
• Strong knowledge of micro-service logging, monitoring, debugging, and testing
• Implementations experience of micro-service integration, packaging, build automation and deployment.
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Growth mindset with the desire to continually learn about emerging technologies/industry trends.
• Knowledge of software architecture.
• Some project management experience
• A hands-on, engaged approach to solving problems.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborative environments
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate strategy.
• Familiarity with modern back-end tools and building pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/education in Software Engineering, Computer Science.
• Demonstrated collaborative approach to build apps and solve complex problems.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Client-focused approach with a goal of creating microservices and API development.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to write clean, well-documented code that follows good coding practices.
• Understanding and experience on developing usecases on the Unqork platform.
• Familiarity with other low code platforms - Appian or PEGA systems etc.
  
  

Desired Characteristics

• Prior experience and knowledge of Git and GitHub
• At least 8 years of working on consumer facing applications experience.
• Knowledge of technical requirements for a human centric or customer centric digital experience is desired.
• Prior experience with Salesforce development, implementation and maintenance.
• Prior experience with Veruand and Socotra platofrms.

• Proactive communicator in all communication methods, including email (Outlook), verbal (in-person & phone), instant messaging (Slack & Teams)
• Willingness and ability to attend virtual meetings with camera on – we respect that there are times when employees may need to turn their camera off.
