Reporting to: VP Field Operations Manager
FLSA: Exempt
Position Description
A successful candidate should have at least 2 years commercial construction
experience. Working on large commercial projects is important. A strong candidate would have
working knowledge of construction means and methods, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
in a fast paced environment. We are looking for an energetic person familiar with and able to
perform all aspects of the project manager’s role while helping to develop the system and
methods required of a developing department.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, drive, and complete projects from sales handover to close out.
- Produce, update, monitor and manage the project schedule and budget.
- Prepare, process and log project submittals and documents.
- Coordinate work within Company departments as well as with subcontractors.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress and cost tracking reports.
- Review and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with customers.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to inter office departments, subcontractors and clients.
- Select and oversee subcontractors to complete specific pieces of the project
- Assure project quality.
- Occasional Travel is required.
- Represent the company in a professional and engaging manner.
Competency and Skills
- Must have a minimum of two years prior project management experience.
- Must have a minimum of two years prior commercial construction experience.
- Large commercial project experience is important.
- Managed multiple large commercial projects simultaneously.
- Must have working knowledge of common building regulations, laws, and rules.
- Ability to multi task, delegate, listen, make decisions and communicate.
- Communicate oral and written information accurately, concisely, and appropriate to the target audience.
- Realize the importance of safety in the construction industry.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
- Experience with Unions, OSHA, Structural Steel, and CAD a big plus.
