Position Overview
The Sourcing Manager for indirect materials will have responsibility for the sourcing activities associated with PlayPower’s indirect materials spend categories. These include MRO, Packaging, IT, HR Services, Marketing, Installation Services, etc. Primary responsibilities will include developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver the best performance at the lowest total cost of ownership, managing supplier relationships & negotiations, driving productivity improvements, and working collaboratively with all functions of PlayPower.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute strategic sourcing activities for all indirect spend categories.
  • Review and analyze spend data to identify cost savings, non-contracted spend and supplier consolidation opportunities.
  • Develop, document, and implement processes and systems in support of company goals.
  • Effectively negotiate contracts and manage business relationships.
  • Plan, prepare and execute supplier business reviews that cover all aspects of the supplier – customer relationships.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and functional areas of the business to find saving opportunities via VAVE and Supply Chain optimization.
  • Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with all required federal, national, regional, and local laws and guidelines.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing measurable improvement in supply chain.
  • Experience working in a centralized procurement organization servicing multiple businesses and multiple facilities, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional and cross-business unit projects.
  • Experience, knowledge, and competency in indirect materials for industrial manufacturing companies.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with proven track record of negotiating both short- and long-term agreements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading Working Capital (inventory, terms) and lead time improvement initiatives.
  • Broad Supply Chain experience.
  • Proven analytic, management and communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
  • Energetic and engaging personality with executive presence.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented, with a strong intellect and a high level of stamina. Without question, the successful candidate must possess the highest level of integrity, loyalty to the team and trustworthiness.
  • Strong team player who can build relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as cultivate key external relationships where needed.
  • Ability to deliver results and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal.
  • Comprehensive planning skills coupled with high capacity to learn and ability to think tactically and strategically.
  • Good analytical skills (including process analysis and interpretation skills).
  • Strong business and financial acumen.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree: degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related business discipline preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience in sourcing/commodity leadership and purchasing required.

Travel Requirements:
  • Estimated travel is 10-20%.

Company Information and Disclaimer

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment setting or may be exposed to noise if working in or around a production area. Schedule is Monday through Friday, normal business hours. Constantly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Position Location:
Position is onsite Monday through Friday (8AM-5PM) and not remote eligible. Only under special circumstance(s) will the person be allowed to work remotely and with express written consent of senior leadership.

Compensation:
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications, aligning with industry standards. The salary range for Dallas, TX, is also based upon geographical market standards for the industry and position in those areas.
There is a possibility of a bonus(es) based on individual performance and merit to be paid at the sole discretion of the company, but bonus(es) are not guaranteed unless outlined in writing in the offer letter extended to the candidate selected for the position.
