HR Generalist
Location: Lewisburg, PA

Are you a Human Resources Professional with the passion and business acumen for aligning an organization’s culture with its short and long term business strategies?

The Human Resources Generalist supports HR Operations by performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with senior HR management in supporting manufacturing locations. This position carries out responsibilities related to benefits, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding recruitment, employee events, workers compensation, unemployment, corporate apparel and maintaining Human Resource and Records and filing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

1.PREPARES EMPLOYEES FOR ASSIGNMENTS
by
scheduling pre-employment tests, conducting reference checks, scheduling new hires for orientation, greeting new hires, conducting orientation; creating new hire folders, completes and maintains I9 paperwork, and by adding and maintaining information into ADP.

2.IMPLEMENT AND ADMINISTER EMPLOYEE POLICIES
by
adhering to company handbook policies, best practices and following approved procedures.

3.ASSIST IN IMPROVING THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
by
providing support to HR department and assisting with day-to-day employee questions. Assists with employee investigations.

4.ASSISTS WITH TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
by
managing WEDnet contract and billing; researching additional grant money availability; organizing all training sessions and creating internal training programs; informing participants; recording all seminars and workshops in training system; updating all on-the-job training forms for each position; and notifying management when employees must attend refresher training courses. Research all possible funding grants. Funding requests to be completed and turned in by appropriate deadlines.

5.WELCOMES VISITORS
by
greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

6.EVALUATES TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT EFFECTIVENESS
by
assessing training needs in relation to job results; recommending future training and development programs; administering WEDnet training reimbursement process.

7.ADMINISTERS WORKERS’ COMPENSATION PROGRAM
by
completing reports and files with WC carrier, works with managers on return to work & light duty programs; creating the light duty offer letter, follows up with employees’ appointments; stay current on WC and OSHA regulations and requirements. Follows up with employees on status of claim and restricted duty availability. Manages employee appointments and closes claims.

8.MAINTAINS AND ADMINSTERS UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIMS
by
Completing E-Sides or paper forms; and reconciling notice of separation

9.COORDINATES EMPLOYEE PROMOTIONAL EVENTS
by
coordinating with the employee engagement committee; setting up schedules for company events, which include but are not limited to Employee Appreciation Days, wellness, blood drives, company picnic, free market, and holiday events; notifying employees of events to increase participation; and distributing gifts to employees for special occasions; ordering Visa Cards and other gift cards.

10.ASSISTS WITH OPERATIONAL NEEDS
by
attending GEMBA and understanding what is needed from HR.

11. MAINTAINS EMPLOYEE CONFIDENCE AND PROTECTS OPERATIONS
by
keeping personnel data confidential.

12.MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE TO INCLUDE NOTARY CERTIFICATION
by
attending educational workshop; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

13.CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT
by
accomplishing related results as needed and supporting the HR Business Partner and Regional Human Resource Manager

14. MAINTAINS COMPLIANCE TO ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARD
by
complying with procedures, rules and regulations; maintaining an organized office and department area.

15.PERFORMS OTHERDUTIES AS REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Associate degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of HR experience required. HR experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must have excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously and within time and budget constraints.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hiring processes.
  • Displays ability to stay self-motivated and complete tasks while working with minimal supervision.
  • Has sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work as an integral member in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and current regulations.
  • Must be available when needed for weekend and evening events.
