About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organized, technically capable team member to help manage EV charging projects from installation through ongoing operation and support.

This is a cross-functional role spanning project operations, customer success, and technical support. You’ll help keep projects moving, ensure property managers have a smooth onboarding experience, maintain accurate operational records, and help troubleshoot charging stations when issues arise.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across technical and non-technical tasks, communicates clearly with customers and internal teams, and enjoys taking ownership of operational details.

Responsibilities

Project Coordinator & Operations

  • Coordinate and complete grant-related paperwork, documentation, and submissions.
  • Track equipment shipments and deliveries, keeping project and tracking information current in PlugOp’s internal tools.
  • Communicate project updates to property managers and send reminders regarding upcoming installation, maintenance, or commissioning work.
  • Support project close-out by ensuring project documentation, station information, and other relevant records are complete and accurate in PlugOp’s internal tools.
  • Coordinate and support EV charging station commissioning and activation.
  • Work across internal teams, contractors, vendors, and property contacts to identify and resolve project blockers.

Customer Success

  • Own onboarding for property managers after new charging stations are installed.
  • Prepare onboarding materials, documentation, and customer-facing resources.
  • Help property managers understand station operations, support processes, and available tools.
  • Follow up with customers after launch to identify and resolve operational issues.

Technical Support & Station Operations

  • Monitor the charging network for offline or underperforming stations.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, technicians, or property managers to restore stations to service.
  • Document station issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Identify recurring technical or operational issues and help improve internal support processes.
  • Driver Support during business hours, and participate in the driver support on-call rotation, with a target of approximately three weekend days per month.

Qualifications

  • Technical background or demonstrated technical aptitude; experience or education in engineering, IT, electrical systems, networking, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn about EV charging hardware, software, networking, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, customers, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and communicate solutions to non-technical users.
  • Comfortable working with project management and documentation tools.
  • Ability to participate in a weekend on-call rotation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in EV charging, electrical infrastructure, energy, construction, property management, or a related industry.
  • Experience working directly with customers or property managers.
  • Familiarity with networking, IoT devices, remote equipment monitoring, or hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, field technicians, or equipment installations.
  • Experience with grant programs, utility programs, or government documentation.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you’ll help ensure that:

  • Projects move from installation through commissioning and close-out without details falling through the cracks.
  • Property managers know what to expect and have a smooth experience working with our team.
  • Project and station information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Offline stations are identified quickly and returned to service efficiently.
  • Recurring operational issues turn into better processes rather than repeated problems.
  • Customers and drivers receive timely, knowledgeable support.

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Health insurance and paid time off.
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment.
  • Direct exposure to the founding team and meaningful ownership from day one.
  • Opportunity to work across operations, customer success, and technical systems rather than being limited to a narrow role.
  • Hands-on experience in a fast-growing industry spanning EV charging, energy, software, and real estate.
  • Strong opportunity for career growth as PlugOp scales, including the ability to take on broader operational and technical responsibility over time.
  • High-impact role at a small team where your work will have a visible effect on customers, projects, and company operations.
