Full Stack Mobile Engineer (Part-Time | Equity)

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to accelerate development of our AI-driven self-discovery app and the APIs that power it. This is a part-time, hands-on role where you’ll build the foundation that enables secure, responsive, and personalized experiences across mobile platforms, helping users stop spiraling and gain clarity.

About Plurawl

Plurawl (Techstars 2025) is on a mission to change how people access mental health support globally. We built an app that uses AI to help people stop jumping to conclusions, process their thoughts, and find clarity in moments of anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt.

In a world where 80% of our thoughts are negative, and 95% are repetitive, Plurawl offers a simple, safe space to break that cycle. And it's working: with over 1K users, our users spend an average of one hour per session, with many making Plurawl part of their weekly routine. What You’ll Do

• Own the Full Stack: Build and maintain features across both the front end (React Native) and back end (Node.js) of our mobile app.
• Create Emotionally Intuitive Interfaces: Build engaging and emotionally resonant user experiences, with thoughtful animations and smooth UI/UX flows.
• Design Scalable Systems: Build and secure REST APIs that power key product features, from AI journaling tools to real-time progress tracking.
• Support Mobile Releases: Manage deployment pipelines and submissions for both iOS and Android, ensuring reliable updates and minimal downtime.
• Integrate Third-Party Tools: Work with APIs like OpenAI, Twilio, and AWS to bring new capabilities to life.
• Test and Ship with Confidence: Write unit and integration tests to support performance, reliability, and scale. Help maintain a lightweight CI/CD workflow with GitHub Actions.
• Monitor Bugs and Performance: Use Sentry for crash reporting and Mixpanel to understand user behavior and improve retention.
• Collaborate Across Functions: Work directly with the CEO, Designer, and Fractional CTO to align product, user, and technical goals. Your input helps shape what we build and how we build it.
• Move Fast, Stay Stable: Use modern dev tools like GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to accelerate execution without sacrificing quality.

What You Bring

• Advanced experience with React Native (iOS & Android) and Node.js
• Proficiency with TypeScript, REST API design, and state management libraries (Context, Redux, or Zustand)
• Strong experience with Mixpanel and event-based analytics implementation
• Familiarity with Sentry for error monitoring and debugging
• Experience building and integrating third-party APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Twilio)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) and version control workflows
• Bonus: Experience working in privacy-first or HIPAA-compliant systems
