Preply is growing quickly. Once a scrappy startup, we’re now firmly in scale-up mode — continuously evolving how we work to match our growth. The Preply product and technology teams are now substantially larger than they were a few years ago, and therefore it is critical to us that, as we scale, we maintain the pace and dynamism that has brought so much success for Preply over the past years.

For this reason we are hiring our first Product Strategy & Operations Manager to help us take our Product team to the next level, to ensure the ways we work across our product organisation are first class, and to make sure we’re able to manage the tricky balance of execution, collaboration, speed, quality, focus, communication, and much more. This is a key role in the product team and will report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

This role provides unrivalled access to the day-to-day of how Preply runs its product and technology organisation. You’ll be at the heart of our planning and decision-making, and will support the team at every level. Your closest partner will be the CPO and VP-level product leaders, and you’ll work closely day-to-day with Product Managers, Designers, Engineering leaders and others.

What you’ll be doing

  • Operational cadence: Set up and run the operational rhythm of the Product org - leading rituals like Product Reviews, Roadmap Reviews, and OKR cycles.

  • Driving alignment: Own the quarterly and annual product planning processes, ensuring strong cross-team alignment so that everyone is pulling in the same direction.

  • Team transformation: Define how our Product, Design, and Tech teams will scale — identifying challenges and bottlenecks, and designing effective ways for teams to collaborate and grow.

  • OKR leadership: Drive goal-setting and tracking across the team, making sure each squad is focused on outcomes and supported to hit their targets.

  • Strategic initiatives: Lead or support diverse strategic initiatives — such as how we balance speed and quality as a team, or how to approach pricing in our marketplace — from scoping and analysis to stakeholder alignment and delivery.

  • Organizational improvement: Constantly look for ways to improve how we operate - identifying pain points, proposing solutions, and driving implementation for better ways of working, tooling and processes.


What you need to succeed

  • Proven experience building or scaling product operations: in a fast-growing, product-led tech company.

  • Deep understanding of modern product organizations and team dynamics: how empowered product squads work, and how to enable them to deliver at scale.

  • Systems thinking: with a track record of designing or improving planning frameworks, operating models, and collaboration systems.

  • Proven ability to drive change within Product Ops: you identify the “why,” design solutions collaboratively, and secure adoption through education and rituals.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills: you’ll manage a lot of the time through influence, which means you need strong empathy for others in the organization and the ability to get things done without direct control.

  • Highly numerate and comfortable with data: it will be critical to analyze organizational effectiveness, team impact, and take an active role in strategic impact planning.

  • Excellent bias-to-action: you will be a key part of keeping team momentum moving forward. You’ll need to work out how to get things done with minimal support and keep momentum high.
