Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Associate with 2 to 3 years of experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and other financial records.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing of transactions.
- Maintain accurate records of financial activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in preparing tax filings.
- Work closely with the finance team to streamline processes and improve financial efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the African business ecosystem and regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus
