Required Experience:

· Strong analytical skills

· Ability to work with large data sets

· 3+ years working with rubber, elastomer, and elastic composite materials

· Experience designing, and performing, tests and experiments

· Product development experience working with cross functional teams

· 2+ years using FE software (ANSYS, SolidWorks, or other) for non-linear analysis

· Microsoft Office, Excel, Word – Google Apps & Email

· Bachelor's Degree in related fields of Engineering or Materials

· Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic startup

· Great attitude and team player!

· PREFERRED SKILLS

· Ability to use SolidWorks for 3D design work

· Setting up and using data acquisition equipment

· Working with and around Production lines and Manufacturing Equipment

· Working with crumb rubber, polyurethane binders and their constituents

· Master’s Degree in related field

· Notion, connected workspace platform

Role Responsibilities:

· Ownership over Pretred material characterization

· Becoming the lead advisor at Pretred for predicting material behavior in new applications

· Establish test procedures for material characterization of existing and new materials

· Analyze test data to create data sheets and add to a material property database

· Identify and coordinate with outside test labs as needed to perform testing

· Design test fixtures for in-house testing

· Organize and develop test plans

· Execute test procedures, working with Engineering and Operations teams

· Perform testing on the manufacturing floor as needed

· Evaluate new sales opportunities and advise on specific material compositions and properties to meet requirements

· Utilize material data to design improved product geometry

· Perform FE analysis to determine effectiveness of products in different scenarios

· Work with the Engineering team to iterate on FE results, in order to implement the design using current or new manufacturing methods

· Create reports and documentation with conclusions and insights

Role Reporting:

· The Materials Application Engineer role will be reporting to the Director of Engineering

Compensation:

· Pay scale varies on experience ($95k - $120k)

· Stock options
