Project Canary is a climate technology company offering an enterprise data platform that helps energy companies improve and report on their emissions footprint. Project Canary builds high-fidelity sensors, ingests data from various other technologies and sources, and leverages proprietary analytics and models to deliver insights that operators can act on to reduce emissions. The data-driven technology enables energy operators to stop leaks faster, reduce risk, streamline reporting, and differentiate their operations for key stakeholders.

We’re looking for an experienced and technical Software Engineering Manager to lead a sharp, motivated engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll guide the team, set direction, help people grow, and jump into the code when it makes sense. That ideal candidate has run teams before, built real stuff at scale, and knows how to push things forward without burning people out.

We care about high standards, smart tradeoffs, and getting better every cycle. We're not into grind culture, micromanagement, or performative productivity — just honest work and meaningful results.

You’ll report to our Director of Product (who was Engineer #2 here and helped build the core product) and now brings deep technical knowledge to shaping the roadmap and dev process.

  • Keep the team healthy with clear communication, realistic pacing, and a strong feedback loop
