Project Canary is a climate technology company offering an enterprise data platform that helps energy companies improve and report on their emissions footprint. Project Canary builds high-fidelity sensors, ingests data from various other technologies and sources, and leverages proprietary analytics and models to deliver insights that operators can act on to reduce emissions. The data-driven technology enables energy operators to stop leaks faster, reduce risk, streamline reporting, and differentiate their operations for key stakeholders.

We’re looking for a driven, organized, and self-sufficient Product Manager to help keep our development engine running smoothly across a growing suite of products. This role is built for someone who likes momentum: you’ll own day-to-day roadmap execution, run a tight delivery process, and help ship high-quality releases across customer-facing desktop and mobile applications, APIs, and data integrations.
You’ll report to the Director of Product and partner closely with our team of engineers working across multiple product areas. Success in this role looks like consistent delivery, clear requirements, aligned stakeholders, and launches that feel calm and coordinated, even when priorities shift.

What You’ll Do

Own execution across multiple products
  • Jump between product areas as priorities change, getting up to speed quickly and keeping work moving.
  • Translate customer and internal input into clear product insights and next steps.
Drive delivery and team process
  • Document product requirements with engineering, including crisp scope and acceptance criteria.
  • Plan, prioritize, and keep the team organized: clean backlog, clear priorities, strong weekly rhythm.
  • Run agile ceremonies and enforce lightweight, effective process.
Ship high-quality releases
  • Lead product acceptance testing and coordinate launches for major releases.
  • Write release notes and launch communications, ensure stakeholders know what’s shipping and when.
  • Maintain launch readiness (testing, checklists, dependencies, handoffs).
Enable teams and customers
  • Create and maintain training and enablement materials for internal teams and customers.
  • Develop strong product fluency across our platform and customer workflows.

Education and experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience on a software product team as a product manager, product owner, or similar role.
  • Experience being customer facing and synthesizing customer feedback into clear problem definition.
  • Professional writing experience of release notes, technical documentation, knowledge base articles, or something similar.
  • Adaptability to manage a wide range of projects within our product suite.
  • A basic understanding of agile software development processes.
Nice to haves:
  • Experience in the utility, oil & gas, environmental services, or any related industry.
  • Experience at an early stage start-up.
  • Previous use of a product tools such as Jira, Pendo, Google Analytics, or Heap or any business analytics tools like PowerBI or Spotfire.
  • Knowledge of user experience design, especially any design tools such as Figma.
  • Experience working with IoT devices and managing software built upon them
